This experience was fantastic overall! For starters, the restaurant’s interior is sooo pretty! The seafood is incredible! I usually don’t eat grilled octopus, but it was amazing here!! Everything was super fresh and very flavourful! The portion sizes are huge too so you’ll definitely be full before dessert rolls around. If you have some room though, I recommend still ordering a sweet treat! What really stands out though is the service. Zepeda was so nice, conversational, and always made sure each of us were good throughout our dinner. Some of the best service I’ve ever experienced to be honest! Highly recommend coming here!
This is the place for a classic seafood restaurant with history. Old, proven spot. First of all, if you don’t have a reservation, be ready to wait. Not too long, just enough time to check the menu. Unfortunately there are no photos in the menu, but you can easily look them up on Google Maps. Service was good. Food was exactly what you expect from a place like this. What I can recommend for sure: fish chicharron- very nice version of a fish taco, or just eat it as a battered fried fish. Short ribs were tender with a flavorful sauce. Coconut shrimp were nice and crispy. What could be improved: oysters should be cleaned better. Also they are not very big, I would say on a smaller side. Salmon carpaccio needs more taste. Grilled salmon was ok, but could be juicier. Overall the experience was very positive. The place itself looks very pleasant.
Dining at Campomar is an unforgettable experience. The elegant dining room is perfect for large groups, and the service was so friendly, attentive, and hospitable. As soon as we sat down, the waiters brought out a basket of toasted tortillas, salsas, lime, cucumber, and a complimentary marlin stew as an appetizer, which had a nice meaty texture and sweet/tangy flavor from tomatoes, peppers, and onions. They also served buttery, fluffy brioche dinner rolls, as well as fresh-made tortillas on demand! But we haven’t even gotten to the menu yet. Every dish we ordered came out on absolutely gigantic platters—perfect for sharing family-style! The Acaponeta Fish Ceviche was made of minced fish, carrots, cucumber, onion, and cilantro. The ceviche was rather mild in flavor, and I was a much bigger fan of the Black Aguachile, raw shrimps marinated in a spicy roasted pepper salsa, served with avocado and cucumber. We also had the grilled sea bass, a super generous portion of fish fillet, served with rice and salad. Finally, our waiter highly recommended the Lo Zarandeado section of the menu, a style of preparation in which seafood was marinated in a spicy red marinade before being grilled to perfection. We tried the Pulpo Zarandeado con Camaron, a half octopus grilled with shrimp, served with grilled cheese tortillas, salad, and vegetables. The spicy, salty flavor of the marinade was simply delightful, and the octopus and shrimp had the perfect smoky char. Overall, the food here was simply delicious, and the service and experience were just unforgettable. The menu prices at first seemed high—until I saw the generous portion sizes! I can’t recommend this restaurant enough!!
Amazing restaurant! Went twice in a week. Fresh and delicious food. Coconut shrimp is a good dish. Even the half portion is a large enough plate. I’ve had my first ever shrimp ceviche here and it was very tasty! Also appreciated the free coconut water they offered on my second visit.
If you are looking for large portions of high quality food served with friendliness and efficiency, this is the restaurant for you. If you want to hear your companions and don’t like to shout, you may wish to go elsewhere. Campomar is attractively decorated and has a modern theme. Their menu is digital and there seems to be no paper menu, so be prepared with a well-charged phone so you aren’t struggling like we did. There is a lot of staff but they work like a well-oiled machine and many are bilingual. Our waiter Christian was friendly, prompt, and knowledgeable. Though they were quite busy, our food arrived in a reasonable time frame and we enjoyed snacks while we waited. The portions were huge so we could have easily shared since prices are higher too. Perks: valet parking, you can split checks, and pay with a credit card. Downside: the music was so extremely loud that with the big TV screens flashing videos it felt like sensory overload. And it was freezing, which I didn’t mind but the rest of my group was unprepared for, so bring a jacket.
We heard it is a must go restaurant. It indeed is. We did not find anything we don’t like. We ordered three course, three drinks and a desert. Everything is perfect and waiter is amazing. My kid likes their little flag on the bread and one of the waiter chase us cross the street to bring five more little flags to my kids. Very good restaurant.
It is a great Mexican seafood restaurant, fresh seafood, great services and even greater ambient. I love the coastal beach side bistro theme. It is definitely upscale and the prices show it, but it's definitely worth it. The flavors are balanced, not overwhelming the fresh seafood taste while staying true to it's Mexican roots. Tender meats, perfectly seasoned. I would definitely recommend this place. Just be careful not to order to much because the entrees portions are huge, and so are the those half gallon drinks! There is no self park, valet only.
